Every bar in the AYA soap collection starts with the same honest foundation: naturally raised beef tallow, spring water, plant oils, sodium hydroxide, and nothing else that doesn't belong there. The result is a genuine, old-fashioned bar of soap - petroleum-free, synthetic fragrance-free, and made with ingredients your skin actually recognises.

Naturally raised tallow has been the backbone of traditional soap-making for centuries, and for good reason. It is deeply compatible with human skin, rich in fat-soluble vitamins, and produces a hard, long-lasting bar with a creamy, conditioning lather. Our tallow comes from free-range cattle.

Every bar also contains sodium hydroxide,  lye,  because every natural bar of soap does. Through saponification, the lye reacts completely with the oils and is fully consumed in the process. Nothing of it remains in the finished bar. What remains is soap, and the glycerin that was always inside those oils, released and left exactly where it belongs, working on your skin.

Each bar in the collection is cold-pressed, handmade in small batches, and scented only with pure essential oils. No synthetic fragrance. No artificial colour. No petroleum derivatives. Just plant oils, and Southern African botanicals.

FOREST - Baobab & African Bluegrass Grounding and warm. Cold-pressed macadamia nut oil and Baobab seed oil meet sorghum powder and an earthy, resinous blend of African wild grasses, cedarwood, ginger and coriander essential oils. For those who like their soap to smell like open land. Key ingredients: Macadamia oil, Baobab (Adansonia digitata) seed oil & fruit powder, Sorghum powder, Cymbopogon validus, Cedarwood, Ginger, Coriander.

CITRUS - Naartjie & Mielie Meal Bright, clean and grounding. Cold-pressed hemp seed oil and non-GM yellow mielie meal give this bar a gentle, natural exfoliation. Turmeric adds warmth. A full citrus essential oil blend - naartjie, sweet orange, lime, grapefruit - lifted with buchu and peppermint. The one for early mornings. Key ingredients: Hemp seed oil, Mielie meal, Turmeric, Citrus sinensis, Citrus reticulata, Buchu (Agathosma betulina), Peppermint.

HERBACEOUS - Blue Mountain & Mafura Deep, complex and rooted. Wild-harvested Mafura (Trichelia emetica) seed oil - a Southern African botanical used for generations for its skin-nourishing properties - anchors a blend of raw cocoa powder and an extraordinary essential oil profile of blue mountain sage, basil, lemongrass, eucalyptus, peppermint, allspice and cedarwood. Key ingredients: Mafura (Trichelia emetica) seed oil, Raw cocoa powder, Salvia stenophylla, Ocimum basilicum, Eucalyptus citriodora, Cedarwood.

FLORAL - Milk, Honey & Rose Geranium Gentle, creamy and calming. Made with goats' milk and raw honey in place of spring water, this bar is the softest in the range. Cold-pressed macadamia nut oil and powdered oats make it deeply soothing on sensitive or dry skin. Rose geranium, cedarwood and benzoin essential oils give it a warm, quietly floral scent that lingers without overwhelming. Key ingredients: Goats' milk, Raw honey, Macadamia oil, Powdered oats, Pelargonium graveolens (Rose geranium), Styrax benzoin.
